Shape control using reflection
The method is based on the product’s reflection principle and is suitable for tasks in 2D and 3D accurate measurements. The product is illuminated in frontlight or backlight illumination, and the resulting light (reflection or multiple reflections) is scanned. Using the predefined lustre shape or calibration of the camera system, the desired parameters are then evaluated.
Accurate measurements usually take place in a static position or during pre-defined object movement.
The most common method is used to measure and check transparent or translucent products, glossy surfaces and varnishes, etc.
The smallest size defect that can be identified is from 0.2 x 0.2 mm.
